Workshops / Trainings on On-line databases / Tools
As part of its Continuing Education Programme, NASSDOC regularly organizes workshops and training programs aimed at enhancing the professional and research skills of scholars and library members. These capacity-building initiatives focus on effective use of online databases, e-books, e-journals, reference management software, and digital research tools. The programmes also cover academic writing, literature review techniques, data handling, and both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, thereby equipping participants with practical knowledge for advanced research. Information regarding upcoming webinars, workshops, and training sessions is shared with library members through email notifications and also disseminated via social media platforms, enabling the research community to actively participate and benefit from these opportunities.
Library Internships & Vocational Training
NASSDOC conducts a Library Internship and Vocational Training Programme designed to provide practical exposure and skill development for aspiring library and information science professionals. The internship includes a one-year apprenticeship programme for young library graduates, offering hands-on experience along with a stipend to help them build the competencies required for a professional career. In addition, vocational training opportunities are available for students pursuing their Library and Information Science degrees through distance education or as part of their regular university curriculum. Such students may be nominated by their institutions to undergo practical training at NASSDOC, typically for a duration of one month, enabling them to gain valuable experience in library operations, information services, and documentation practices.
