Appointment of Chairperson in Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)

The Search-Cum-Selection Committee, constituted by the Government of India, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, New Delhi, seeks nominations for selection of Chairperson of Indian Council of Social Science Research from a collegium of eminent Social Scientists constituted by the Council as per the Memorandum of Association and Rules of Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi.
The person to be appointed as Chairperson shall be of national eminence in the field of social sciences with proven contribution to research and demonstrated leadership abilities. The position of Chairperson, ICSSR is honorary however the Chairperson, ICSSR is entitled to receive such allowances, but not salaries or wages and such other privileges as may be decided, from time to time, by the Government of India. The term of office of the Chairperson shall be of three years from the date of appointment.
The nominations by the collegium should be addressed to the Chairperson of Search–cum–Selection Committee for the appointment of Chairperson, ICSSR and sent under sealed envelope to the Administrative Officer, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110067, up to the office hours of 19th February 2021. The nominations can also be sent to the Administrative Officer through email at ashish@icssr.org
Collegium Members are requested to nominate not more than two persons for the position of Chairperson, ICSSR. In case a Collegium member is nominating two persons, both the nominations may be sent separately along with a CV (not more than 4-5 pages) of the nominee(s).
