General Information:
In pursuance of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS), South Africa, the research proposals are invited for grant for joint research projects between Indian and South African researchers in the field of Social Sciences. Proposals may only be made by researchers affiliated to research institutions / university faculties and departments recognised by the respective Indian and South African funding organisations.
Programme objective:
The objective of this programme is to promote and strengthen the research cooperation in the field of humanities and social sciences between the two countries, by providing funding to allow joint research activities for internationally excellent research in relevant areas of mutual interest and benefit. Applicants should be scholars who wish to develop a joint research project with a counterpart from South Africa in the following priority areas:
Eligibility:
Faculty, researchers and academicians having permanent positions and belonging to publically funded universities, deemed universities and research institutes can apply. They must also hold a PhD or equivalent qualification, and have held this for at least three years.
