CAG & ICSSR is organising a Colloquium on State of the Finances of Punjab and Status of Governance in Urban Local Bodies of Punjab on 27th Feb 2026 that will bring together a distinguished panel led by Prof. V. N Alok, IIPA, New Delhi, Prof. Ram Singh, Council Member, ICSSR and Director, Delhi School of Economics, Ms. Nazil J. Shayin, IAAS, Principal Accountant General (Audit), Punjab, Mr. Pushpendra Gehlot, IAAS, Deputy Accountant General (Admin), and Ms. Nidhi, IAAS, Deputy Accountant General (Local Govt. Cluster) Punjab.

This Colloquium will spotlight evidence-based insights on fiscal sustainability, transparency, and institutional accountability in Punjab, and aims to bridge research and policy, foster informed public discourse, and generate actionable recommendations for strengthening fiscal management and urban institutional performance.

It further seeks to enhance the effectiveness of Urban Local Bodies in delivering citizen-centric services. From revenue mobilisation to service delivery, the focus remains on strengthening urban governance frameworks that directly impact citizens’ everyday lives
