ICSSR Network Libraries

Professional Bodies

Under its Professional Skill Development and Networking Programme, NASSDOC maintains annual institutional memberships with leading national and international professional bodies and networks, including the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), Indian Library Association (ILA), Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), and Developing Library Network (DELNET), among others. These memberships provide NASSDOC with access to valuable online resources, free or discounted publications such as journals, newsletters, and e-bulletins, as well as opportunities for networking, training, advocacy, conferences, and seminars. Since its inception, ICSSR–NASSDOC has been actively associated with these professional bodies and continues to renew the memberships every year, thereby strengthening its role in the global library and information science community.

DELNET / Inter-Library Network

NASSDOC is an active member of DELNET (Developing Library Network), which promotes resource sharing among libraries through its extensive network of over 8,600 member institutions. DELNET provides access to a wide range of resources, including Union Catalogues of Books and Journals, Article Databases, E-Books, E-Journals (full text), Multimedia Collections, and Theses & Dissertations. Through the Inter-Library Loan facility, NASSDOC regularly borrows required documents for its users, often acquiring rare and otherwise unavailable publications, including some of the oldest ICSSR Annual Reports preserved within the DELNET network.

Recognizing the importance of Inter-Library Loan in fulfilling the information needs of researchers and ensuring access to rare and valuable resources, NASSDOC renews its DELNET membership on a regular basis. This service continues to strengthen NASSDOC’s ability to support the scholarly community by supplementing its own collections with resources from across the DELNET network.
