The book is an anthology of papers based on various ideas and deliberations shared during a Seminar-cum-National Dialogue around the themes Education, Skill and Employment and Access, Equality and Quality in Higher Education amongst teacher educators, policy planners and academic administrators, representing various apex organisations and universities from different states.
The three units focus on a theme respectively that attempts to bring certain social issues and concerns in interface with contemporary ideas of education.
The book offers an array of concepts, sharing, arguments and discussions that hopefully ignites the readers towards revisioning the Indian education system in synergy with the social concerns!
Pankaj Arora has been serving in the Department of Education (CIE), University of Delhi for around 23 years. He is also serving as Director, Institute of Life Long Learning, University of Delhi. He has authored numerous articles, and presented research papers in various national and international conferences.
Saroj Sharma is a senior faculty member, University School of Education, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Presently, she is on deputation as Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). She has been the first Dean of the University School of Education.
Yukti Sharma is faculty at the Department of Education and Academic Secretary at the Institute of Lifelong Learning, University of Delhi. She is involved in teaching and guiding research in the area of inclusive education and science education at the department and has conducted several research projects while also presenting papers in national and international conferences.
Braj Bihari Kumar, an educationist, eminent scholar and prolific writer was the Chairman, ICSSR, New Delhi and former Governing Body Member of the Science Council of Asia, Tokyo, Japan.
