Subsequent to the announcement of Hon’ble Finance Minister, Vidya Lakshmi Portal has become functional w.e.f. 15.08.2015. Under this postal, any student can apply for Education Loan online on: - www.vidyalakshmi.co.in. Many options are available: different types of Bank, different types of scheme, different types of product, etc. A student can apply from his home or institution or kiosk or cyber café or any other. The portal is also linked with Centre for Good Governance Nation e-scholarship portal: www.scholarships.gov.in. Student can also apply for scholarship. Besides a good number of student friendly schemes are also mentioned in the portal. Research institutes of the ICSSR have been requested to give wide publicity in this regard through their websites.
Wide publicity is given to the students, parents, guardians, institutes, deans (student welfare) student leaders about the Vidya Lakshmi Portal.
"VLP Should carry logo of the Government of India indicating Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of HRD to convey that it is Government portal”.
