Currently, he is also serving as an Advisor at, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, a Member of the Executive Council, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Wardha, a Member of the Senate, Panjab University, Chandigarh, a Member, of National Monitoring Committee on Minority Education, GOI. He has also been on the panel of the National Language Council, GOI for preparing the draft of the National Education Policy,2020.
He has been Professor Emeritus at Punjabi University, Patiala from 2012 to 2014. Earlier he retired as Professor and Head of the Department of Hindi, at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, where he also served as Dean and Director of Chairs of Bhagat Kabir, Satguru Ram Singh, and Swami Vivekanand. His contributions were recognized with numerous awards, including the Padam Shree Award in 2022, India's fourth-highest civilian award. He was also felicitated by the President of India with the Award of Hindi Sevi Puruskar (2017) and Punjab Government with the award of Shiromani Hindi Sahitkar (2004).
He has written and edited over thirty books and has published in all major national and international journals of Hindi and has fifteen books of poetry published in his name.
