Call for applications for the ICSSR’S Centrally Administered Doctoral Fellowships for the Financial Year 2023-24

Applications are invited for the following Centrally Administered Doctoral Fellowship Schemes
of the ICSSR for the Financial Year 2023-24:

Doctoral Fellowships:

1. Full-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
2. Short-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
3. Contingency Grant Scheme

The research proposal should be in a social science discipline as elaborated in section 1.2 of the detailed guidelines available on the link: www.icssr.org/doctoralfellowship Research proposal falling in areas other than those mentioned in the guidelines may also be considered under special circumstances if the research scholar has necessary competence to conduct research in social sciences or social science aspects of other disciplines in the opinion of the ICSSR. Projects that span across disciplinary boundaries also fall within the areas of the Council’s interests.

Applicants are required to read the eligibility conditions carefully and apply in accordance with the the ICSSR Fellowship Guidelines annexing the required documents.

The candidates shall submit an online application on the link: https://app.icssr.org   This web link will be active from 10-10-2023 till the last date of application, i.e.31.10.2023. The research proposal is required to be uploaded in the format provided in Section IV of the online application form. The candidates are also required to submit an attested copy of the research proposal / synopsis submitted in their respective universities where they are registered as Ph D students. The proposal must contain the title of research clearly.

Applicants are requested to take a print out of the online application form and send it along with all the annexures to ‘The Deputy Director (Research), Doctoral Research Fellowship Division (RFD), Indian Council of Social Science Research, JNU Institutional Area, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110067’.

The last date for online submission of application is 31-10-2023 and the last date for receipt of hard copy of application in ICSSR is 10-11-2023.  Applicants are advised to apply well before the last date in order to avoid last moment glitches. The applications can be filled either in English or in Hindi.

The ICSSR Grant-in-aid Research Institutes will soon issue call for Institutional Doctoral Fellowship Scheme. The applicants seeking consideration under Institutional Doctoral Fellowship Scheme will also apply through the ICSSR website in online mode and select ‘ICSSR Research Institute’ in Section III of the online application form. Each applicant is required to apply through one Institute only under Institutional Doctoral Fellowship Scheme, else the applications will be rejected.

 Last date for submission of online application has been extended to October 31, 2023 (Tuesday)
