About the Editor
Prakash Singh is a distinguished citizen of the country. An officer of the Indian Police Service, he served and occupied the key positions in the most volatile areas of Nagaland, Assam, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. The Government of India, in recognition of his contribution to national security, awarded him the Padma Shri in 1991.
Singh was Police Chief of two of the largest states of India Uttar Pradesh and Assam. He also commanded India's premier paramilitary outfit, the Border Security Force.
Prakash Singh is the architect of Police Reforms in the country and is Chairman, Indian Police Foundation.
He was associated with the preparation of the Encyclopedia of Hinduism under the guidance of Swami Chidananda Saraswati of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh.
Prakash Singh has also been closely associated with the activities of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. Presently, he is guiding the Kendra activities in Uttar Pradesh and is a Member of the Advisory Council, Vivekananda International Foundation.
